  • Community Building

Clay has always been a social material. In so many cases, community has been necessary to help support access to this material. Being in a social studio allows members and students to get out of the house, have fun, and build lasting relationships. We hope to support the growth of friendships and support our growing community by offering a space for those to work and play.

  • Reduced Costs

The overhead involved with Ceramic Studios is huge. With equipment costing thousands of dollars, as well as high maintenance and operation costs, operating a clay space at home may not be ideal to many. Even with costs aside, so many people do not have access to additional space in their home to support a clay practice. Squiggle the Studio is a studio designed with these things in mind, providing access to quality equipment, kilns, studio space, and staff responsible for maintaining the space.

  • Comfortable Studio

With comfort in mind, much of our studio was designed to blend work and life in the studio. Offering air purifiers, heat and ac in the space for those blistery days and warm summer days, a lounge space to relax and share meals with members, as well as just being a cozy, plant filled pottery studio, we wanted to ensure the comfort of all our students and members when they come to visit us. In addition to these comforts, our studio is located on the ground level and has multiple access points, including a private secured (cameras, coded entry) access point located off our parking lot.

  • Exploration of Materials

Squiggle the Studio is committed to providing clay bodies, materials, and access to a glaze kitchen to support exploration. Being the only studio offering earthenware as one of their studio materials, we wanted to give members and students an opportunity to explore whats in their own backyard. In addition to earthenware, we also offer cone 6 clay bodies. With classes also being designed around this concept, this gives students and members the ability to learn about new clay bodies, how to mix their own materials, and how to explore materials around them.
